Secondmind is one of 14 British AI companies selected by the UK’s Department for Business & Trade to join the creative/AI Trade Mission to SXSW 2025. SXSW, running from March 8 - 11 in Austin, Texas, USA, is one of the world’s premier festivals for innovation, tech and culture, attracting high-profile business leaders, politicians and creatives from around the world.

UK House, based at Palm Door on Sixth, Austin, brings together global innovators to showcase British creativity and technology through immersive experiences, discussions, and networking opportunities. Gary Brotman, Chief Executive Officer, and Morgan Jenkins, Chief Product Officer, will showcase how Secondmind’s cloud-native software, powered by Secondmind Active Learning, addresses the increasing complexity of vehicle design and development.

The UK leads Europe in AI development, with over 3,000 AI companies pushing boundaries in ethical innovation and employing over 64,000 full time AI workers in 2023. The UK is home to the third highest number of AI companies, from healthcare to climate solutions, in the world.

Gary Brotman, Chief Executive Officer at Secondmind, said: "We are proud and excited to be among the 14 distinguished UK AI companies selected by the UK Department for Business and Trade to represent Britain’s vibrant AI sector at UK House as part of SXSW 2025 in Austin, Texas. This is a stellar opportunity to showcase how we are pushing the boundaries of AI in model-based engineering, and demonstrate the practical and transformative impact AI is already having on the global automotive industry. We look forward to engaging with global leaders and innovators, highlighting the UK's strength in AI and advanced technologies, and forging new partnerships at one of the world’s most influential tech festivals."

SXSW, which started in 1987, has grown to become one of the world’s most influential platforms celebrating tech, film, music, education and culture. Previous speakers include former US President Barack Obama, Meta CEO Mark Zuckerberg and Microsoft co-founder Bill Gates.
